CONTRACT — SAMPLE ONLY

The following is a contract sample for a Companion hound TO SPAY/NEUTER. The Reservation Fee is deducted from the Purchase Price at time of final payment. The purchase price includes SUNSTAG mentorship, guidance, time, and experience throughout the life of the hound.

CONTRACT OF SALE

ARTICLE I. AGREEMENT
Made this ___ day of __________ , 20 __ , in Lucerne Valley, CA, by the laws of the County of San Bernardino, State of California, between Dixie Hirsch of SUNSTAG (Reg.) IRISH WOLFHOUNDS (Breeder) and _________________ (Buyer), whereby title to a Male/Female Irish Wolfhound (known as: Sunstag ____________________________), whelped on the ___ day of ____________, 20____, by Sire: ____________________________, out of Dam: ________________________________, and now owned by the Breeder, will vest in the Buyer and the Breeder will deliver to the Buyer the duly completed AKC registration form, health records, and Breeder's three-generation pedigree on this hound.
TERMS & CONDITIONS APPLY.

2) All transport costs paid by the Buyer (including crate and document fees).
3) No liabilities will accrue to SUNSTAG (Reg.) after the dog leaves Breeder.

ARTICLE II. BREEDER ATTESTS THAT:
1) Hound is certified sound at time of sale.
2) If this hound manifests a hereditary defect affecting soundness by age 10 months, Breeder will allow up to 50% discount on a replacement hound provided the hound in question is neutered. If the hound is returned intact, there is a full replacement at earliest availability. ONLY defects certified by two (2) veterinarians (one of Breeder's choice) as hereditary are covered under this Article.
3) There are no cash refunds.

ARTICLE III. BUYER WILL:
1) Pay $ __________ for this hound, which includes the transferrable Reservation Fee (1/3 of the total), any balance due for services, plus, if required: transportation (air $500–$600), crate ($100–$250), Health Certificate ($65).
2) Have this hound checked by a veterinarian within 72 hours. The hound should be microchipped during this visit. Record of the visit must be provided to the Breeder. Rabies inoculation should not be given with other vaccines/medications.
3) Maintain communication with Breeder and provide updates on health, growth, temperament, anecdotes, and photos. Breach of this section constitutes Breach of Contract.
4) Understand this hound is sold as a COMPANION only; may not be shown in conformation or bred. May participate in Obedience, Lure Coursing, CGC, Therapy, and other AKC performance events. Must be an in-house family member.
5) Spay/Neuter between 14–25 months of age (unless medically necessary earlier). Hip X-rays required at that time. Verification of neuter must be sent to Breeder. Spay/neuter outside timeframe is Breach of Contract.
6) Not transfer ownership without Breeder’s consent; Breeder retains first right of return.
7) Consider membership in an Irish Wolfhound breed club for education (participation optional).
8) In case of inability/unwillingness to maintain hound, Buyer’s death, illness, or abuse, Breeder may reclaim hound and documents. Breeder may seek damages of $7,500 plus attorney fees and costs. Accidental breeding is a Breach of Contract.
